Compliance

Private by default.
Provable on your terms.

Beil keeps your activity off the public record without hiding it from the people you choose. Here is what is visible, how you prove your history, the safeguards built into the protocol, and the rules for using it.

Sealed on BNB Chain: amounts and counterparties stay hidden. Only the entry and the exit are public.

Visibility

Who can see what

Tap a row to see why.

Your vault holds the spending and viewing keys, so you see everything and are the only one who can move funds.

A viewing key decrypts your notes and reveals when they are spent, so it shows balance and full history. It contains no spending key, so it can never move funds.

Entry and exit are public: a shield shows your wallet, token and amount; a withdrawal shows the address and amount received. Everything between them is sealed.

The indexer serves the same encrypted data to everyone and the relayer only submits proofs it can't alter. Neither has keys, and neither keeps access logs.

The team runs no service that holds keys, and the contracts are immutable with no function that moves a note without its owner's proof.

Viewing keys

Prove your history in three steps

Your viewing key lets anyone you choose read your Beil history and check it against the chain. It can't spend.

  1. 01Open your vault

In the app, go to Keys. Your viewing key is there, next to your receiving address.

  2. 02Copy your viewing key

It starts with beilview1 and is read-only. Share it only with the person who needs it: an accountant, an auditor, an exchange's compliance team.

  3. 03They check it

The key opens your notes, which can then be matched to the public shields and withdrawals on BNB Chain, without your spending key. Today that takes Beil's open client libraries; a read-only viewer in the app is planned.

Safeguards

Safeguards in the protocol

Enforced by the contracts on BNB Chain, not by policy alone.

Public entry and exit

Every shield and withdrawal is an ordinary, visible BNB Chain transaction. Value can't enter or leave Beil unseen.

Unsafe tokens refused

The pool checks its real balance change on every deposit, so tokens that could short a shared pool are rejected on-chain.

Issuer controls respected

Tokens whose issuer can freeze or blacklist keep those controls over the pool's balance. The app labels them.

Caps and emergency pause

Per-token deposit caps, and a Safe multisig that can pause deposits, transfers and swaps while an issue is investigated. Nothing lets it move or redirect funds.

Every rule enforced on-chain

Amounts, recipients and fees are bound into each zero-knowledge proof and checked by the contract before anything moves.

Acceptable use

Financial privacy is normal. Breaking the law is not.

Authorities

Requests from authorities

What the Beil team can do

  • Explain how the protocol works and what is public on-chain
  • Pause deposits, transfers and swaps through the multisig while an issue is investigated
  • Point to the public shield and withdrawal transactions, which anyone can read

What it can't do

  • Read anyone's balance or history: it never has the keys
  • Freeze, seize or move an individual's funds
  • Produce logs of who used the relayer: none are kept

Law enforcement and compliance enquiries: a contact address will be published before launch.

Questions

Questions

How is Beil different from a mixer?

Beil is a private balance you keep and use: you shield once, then send, trade and lend inside it. Entry and exit stay public, every action is checked on-chain, and your full history remains provable with your viewing key.

Can Beil freeze, seize or move my funds?

No. The contracts have no function that moves a user's notes without their proof, and they are immutable, so none can be added later. The admin multisig can pause deposits, transfers and swaps while an issue is investigated; withdrawals stay open. In an incident it can also pause everything leaving the pool for at most 3 days, ending by itself, with at least 7 days between two such pauses. Nothing lets it single out, freeze or take anyone's balance.

Can Beil hand over my transaction history?

Beil doesn't have it. Notes are encrypted to your keys in your browser, and the relayer and indexer keep no record of who asked for what. Your viewing key is the only way to read your history, and only you can share it.

How do I show an exchange where my funds came from?

Give their compliance team your viewing key. It shows every note you received and spent, which they can match to the public shield and withdrawal transactions on BNB Chain.

Is it legal to use Beil where I live?

Rules on privacy tools differ by country and change over time. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you, including tax reporting. If you are unsure, ask a qualified adviser.

Draft for launch: the team will date this page when it is reviewed. It explains how Beil works and the rules for using it. It is not legal advice.
